mites,fleas,worms; treatment
well we all know that dogs get fleas,pups and dogs also have worms,and on very rare acassions some even have mites (sarcoptic mange)
i had to go to my vets because the pup had mites luckily i notice it before it went to sarcoptic mange ,mites are like spiders in a web,which start under neath your dogs body like the belly,back of legs.it could even start at the back of the ear.,i had her treated with stronghold (selamectin)this is a drop liquid drop that you put on your dogs skin between the shoulder blades.you have to apply on the dog only on a dry dog and leave the liquid drop to dry about 30 mins,do not let your dog get wet,or bath them until 2-3 hours after the treatment.the liquid travels into the skin and treats the whole body so theres no need for you to apply everywere just between shoulder blades.repeat this treatment in 4 weeks time to prevent the mite coming back.
this stronghold(selamectin)also treats flea infestations,it kills adult fleas,eggs and larvae,you could also use as a part of treatment strategy for flea dermatitis.
it also treats adult roundworms,prevention of heartworm disease and biting lice.
i must say sarcoptic mange (mites)is very dangerous and humans can catch this too,(scabies) stronghold (selamectin) is only available from your vets,and its priced on the weight of your dog,please contact your vet for more info on this product,but remember if you have a couple of dogs than it will be passed onto the other dog so you will have to get them both treated.
